I am out of network with all commercial insurance plans. Being in-network with insurance means less time with patients, and most plans do not cover integrative/functional services. The overhead expense and administrative time required to file claims, contest rejected claims, comply with metrics reporting requirements is not feasible for the scale of my practice.

• Most concierge practices charge a membership fee and bill to your insurance. I am not in network with any commercial insurance plans. We will provide you with  superbills, which you can submit to your insurance plan in order to use out-of-network benefits for possible reimbursement. The membership fee may be eligible for HSA or FSA funds, but you should check with your plan to ensure this is an option for you. 

• Many concierge practices offer 24/7 access for routine matters. I pride myself on responding promptly to my patient’s questions in a personalized and thoughtful way and will strive to provide reliable access when it matters most. Nevertheless, I cannot provide 24/7 access for non-emergencies. 

• Some concierge practices may guarantee expedited appointments with a network of specialists.  My practice will continue to guide referrals and coordinate care with excellent specialists affiliated with Endeavor Health, Northwestern and Advocate. I will always advocate for you, but cannot guarantee expedited appointments.  

I will continue to incorporate a functional medicine perspective into my approach to care. The functional framework looks at how different systems in the body—such as energy production, digestion, hormones, and immune function—work together to maintain overall health.

When appropriate, I may recommend functional laboratory testing to better understand these relationships. Because the interpretation of functional tests, the incorporation of results into individualized treatment plans, and ongoing guidance require additional time beyond standard primary care, these services are not included in the base membership. For the base membership, functional lab interpretation and associated care are available for an additional fee of $150 per test. Functional lab interpretation and associated care are included in the premium membership.
